Green Link

Morguard Investments has a program in their Retail Properties Portfolio called Green Link.  This program is designed to see where our property measures up in the industry as to the environmental standards and use of our resources.  We are committed to improving the quality of our environment and the uses of our resources.

In 2023, with the support of our customers and retailers, we recycled a total of 375,000 pounds, which translates to:

• By recycling paper and cardboard this year the property has saved 2,640 mature trees.
• Enough plastic bottles were recycled this year to produce 218 XL polyester t-shirts.
• The paper recycled in the past year would have saved enough water to fill 1,440 water cooler bottles.
• The total material diverted from landfill this year is equivalent to the weight of 81 electric sedans.

BOMA BEST CERTIFICATION

BOMA BEST, (Building Environmental Standards), is BOMA Canada’s environmental certification program that sets best practice standards for energy and environmental performance of existing buildings utilizing independent data audits and educational assessment tools.

We are pleased to announce that Shoppers Mall has received BOMA BEST Gold Certification!

BOMA BEST Certification demonstrates that Shoppers Mall has met all of BOMA’s best practices and demonstrates compliance with the best practices BOMA looks for. Best practices include performing an energy audit and a water audit, continually monitoring resource consumption and having a preventative maintenance program. These basic elements and the other best practices are the foundation of good environmental management.

ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING STATION

Shoppers Mall has an all-purpose Electric Vehicle Charging Station available at Entrance 6 (located near Boathouse). This service is available to customers who own an electric vehicle free of charge.
